PAIN vs. GAIN: Placentia’s Michael Chang admits to feeling some pain as he resumes tournament tennis after a serious hip injury (C1). . . . For injured weekend athletes not so in tune with their bodies, doctors preach a cautious return to exercise. “If you have pain that persists throughout a workout or intensifies, (you’re) certainly not ready to go back,” said Dr. Michael W. Heaslet of Irvine. . . . Added California Angels physician Lewis Yocum: “You can get yourself in trouble thinking ‘No pain, no gain.’ If you feel pain, the potential is there (for) more serious injury.”
