Academy Award Nominations

After this year’s Academy Award nominations, I believe the time has come, for African Americans to start a boycott of Hollywood. Since they go to the movies in greater numbers than whites, maybe (with a boycott) they can get some sort of parity in the movie industry.
How can one make any sense of the blatant omissions from this year’s nominees other than racial?
“Do the Right Thing” was the best movie that I have seen in the last 10 years. The movie was very well directed and wonderful to watch. How in heaven’s name can such a project be ignored for best film or director?
The trend is if a movie dealing with black people is positive it has to be ignored for an award, no matter who the director is.
