DUBLIN, Ireland — Valentine Valentine the insurance salesman enjoyed a triple celebration today--St. Valentine’s Day, his 65th birthday and retirement.
He said: “I have been ribbed all my life about my name, but I am proud of it and today is a very, very special day for me.”
The postman delivered more than 40 cards and bouquets of flowers to Valentine Valentine’s house in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh, before he went to work for the last time in his 42-year career.
“Even before the postman arrived today, I had received a bundle of cards, including a few from some mystery admirers. I haven’t the faintest idea who they are,” he said.
