This B&B; Is Some Barn
On a recent visit to England we stayed two nights at Barn House, a 17th-Century restored barn in Rodmell. This attractive bed-and-breakfast inn is in five acres of orchard, rose gardens and lawns and is furnished, of course, with antiques. The hostess, Bernadette Fraser, and her staff are delightful. Our room was comfortable and had a spectacular view of the countryside. The breakfast of fresh fruit and juices, cereals, eggs, Irish scones or Irish soda bread, sauteed tomatoes and mushrooms, biscuits and jams (made from fruit in the Fraser orchard) was wonderful. The address is: Bernadette Fraser, Barn House, Rodmell, Lewes, East Sussex BN7 3HF.
