Despite allegations by San Francisco Mayor Art Agnos that money from a Sacramento developer led to the defeat of a new baseball stadium in San Francisco last November, figures indicate that supporters raised far more money than opponents.
Campaign statements filed with the Registrar of Voters indicated that supporters raised $881,318, opponents $130,000.
Proposition P called for building a 45,000-seat stadium for the San Francisco Giants in the China Basin area. It lost by fewer than 2,000 votes.
