EMPIRE LEAGUE : Katella Upsets Loara in Overtime

Kevin Carlson hit two free throws with 15 seconds left in overtime to give Katella High School a 75-74 upset victory over Loara in an Empire League boys’ basketball game Wednesday.
Loara (14-5 overall, 3-4 in the league) led, 74-73, when Loara’s Tes Whitlock stole the ball and missed a dunk. Katella (6-14, 2-5) gained possession and called a timeout. When play resumed, Carlson was fouled away from the ball and converted the free throws.
