School Board Offers Reward in Arson Case

The Los Angeles school board offered a $10,000 reward Tuesday for information leading to the conviction of an arsonist who set fire to a Granada Hills junior high school earlier this month.
The Jan. 2 fire caused about $250,000 in damage to buildings and equipment at Porter Junior High School, district officials said.
Repairs to the school could take as long as a year to complete, district officials said.
The incident is under investigation by the Los Angeles city Fire Department, as well as by school police.
