Kimberly-Clark Corp.: The maker of household, personal and health-care products reported 1989 earnings of $424 million, a gain of 12% from 1988. Sales totaled $5.7 billion, up 6%. For the fourth quarter, the Dallas firm reported record earnings of $111 million, up 17%. Sales rose 5% to $1.46 billion. The firm attributed its performance to strong operating results in its personal-care and household consumer products business, primarily in the United States, Europe and South Korea.
