Reliance Group Buys Transamerica Unit: Transamerica Corp. reached a definitive agreement to sell Transamerica Title Insurance Co. to Reliance Group Holdings Inc. of New York for about $65 million. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed by April. Transamerica Title, headquartered in Los Angeles, had 1989 revenue of about $185 million.
