Darryl Kennedy scored 19 points to lead the World Basketball League all-star team to a 107-102 victory Sunday over Riga of the Soviet Union in the SunAire Ostend Christmas tournament in Mechlin, Belgium.
In an opening-round game, Alfrederick Hughes scored 31 points to lead the all-stars to a 116-98 victory over Belgian league champion MP Mechlin.
Against the Soviets, who had two 6-foot-10 centers, Willy Bland added 18 points and Chip Engelland and Bryan Pollard had 16 apiece. The WBL is made up of players under 6-foot-5.
