Mayor Fred Hunter has announced plans for a series of public service messages against drug abuse that will screen in a local movie theater and on local cable channels.
The 30-second announcements will feature Hunter and a “high-profile youth” discussing the perils of using drugs, according to a news release. The first youth to take part in the series is Chris Finch, a 14-year-old Loara High School student who is a dancer and recording artist. Finch was a dancer in pop singer Madonna’s recent concert tour of Europe.
The announcements can be seen at Cinemapolis theaters and on several channels of MultiVision Cable.
