SHORT TAKES : Scarlett Finally Getting Credit

ATLANTA — Scarlett O’Hara’s line, “Rhett, you never give me credit for anything.” in the film classic, “Gone With the Wind,” may no longer hold true. To mark the 50th anniversary of the movie and the eve of its re-premiere, Scarlett is getting credit where it counts with a “Gone With the Wind” MasterCard. The Citizens and Southern National Bank in Atlanta is issuing a GWTW affinity card with a commemorative anniversary logo--the first-ever credit card tied directly to a movie. Bank officials say cardholders will receive new cards--with various scenes from the movie--every other year. Ted Turner, board chairman and president of Turner Broadcasting System Inc., will be issued the first card.
