A memorial fund has been created for a man who was shot to death outside his apartment in Bell while trying to stop robbers from taking a moped from a 13-year-old boy.
Bay Area-Los Angeles Express, the trucking company that employed David Guillen, 32, established the fund on behalf of the man’s family, company Vice President Manuel Sanchez said.
Guillen was killed Friday evening when he intervened in an armed robbery half a block from his home. The fund will go toward supporting Guillen’s pregnant wife, Yvonne, 27, and their 21-month-old son, Alex. Contributions should be sent to the Memorial Fund for David Guillen, c/o Bay Area-Los Angeles Express, 1799 Industrial Way, Vernon, CA 90023.
No arrests have been made.
