STATE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP : La Habra Faces Best of Northern California

FULLERTON — Southern Section champion La Habra High School will face Northern champ=ion Moraga Campolindo at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the girls’ volleyball Division II state championship at Cal State Fullerton.
La Habra (20-1), the division’s top-seeded team, defeated defending state champion Bakersfield Highland, seeded second, last Saturday to advance. Campolindo (25-1), the second-seeded team in Northern California, advanced by upsetting top-seeded Santa Cruz Harbor Tuesday.
La Habra has five starters who are either sophomores or juniors. However, its key player is 5 -7 senior outside hitter Deana Shively.
Neither school has had a team advance past sectional playoffs before.
