Congress Votes Itself a Hefty Pay Raise
An ordinary worker who sleeps on the job or makes costly mistakes gets fired.
But Congress? In approving the questionable legislation which allowed the savings and loans to play fast and loose with depositors’ money, Congress is directly responsible for the $200 billion loss we must pay.
Similar examples of congressional ineptitude, mismanagement, self-serving conniving, and sleazy thinking make the headlines every day. The worth of our congressmen, collectively, can be seen in the national deficit.
Some, a very few, deserve a raise. For most, a pink slip.
