COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Antelope Valley Basketball Team Suffers 1st Loss

Freshman forward Joe Mantashigian came off the bench to score a team-high 22 points Tuesday, but that was not enough to help Antelope Valley College as the Marauders fell to College of the Sequoias, 88-77, in a nonconference game in Visalia.
It was the first loss of the season for Antelope Valley (3-1).
Danny Griffin had 14 points, and Dedan Thomas and Paul Ernst each scored 11 points for Antelope Valley.
Sequoias improved its record to 4-2.
Women’s Basketball
Azusa Pacific 68, Occidental 48--Jaqui Dent paced Occidental with 13 points and Kelly Stephenson added 12 in a losing effort in a nonconference game at Azusa Pacific.
Occidental drops to 1-1; Azusa Pacific is 3-1.
Wrestling
Moorpark 23, Palomar 20--Bill Scannell (126 pounds), Robbie Cook (134) and Carson Wollert (190) posted victories to lift Moorpark to victory in a nonconference match at Moorpark.
Two other wrestlers won by default for Moorpark (11-1-1).
