Three members of a family from San Bernardino County were injured, two seriously, early Tuesday when the car in which they were riding veered off the Golden State Freeway north of Los Angeles and flipped over, authorities said.
The driver, Katherine Aguirre, 21, and passenger Brandon Aguirre, 1, were thrown from the car in the 4 a.m. crash near Gorman, said California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Ehly. Passenger Bryan Aguirre, 26, was not ejected, Ehly said.
All three were taken to Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital in Newhall, where Katherine Aguirre was listed in critical condition and Brandon Aguirre was in stable condition, Ehly said. Bryan Aguirre received only minor injuries. The family lives in Bloomington.
The three were traveling north near Hungry Valley Road when the car drifted off the freeway and down an embankment, Ehly said.
The cause of the accident had not been determined, he said.
