The driver of a blue mini-van shot at a motorist Monday on the Antelope Valley Freeway, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
James Garcia, 25, of Newhall told deputies he was driving north in the fast lane of the freeway about 9:45 a.m. when the van pulled up behind him and flashed its lights, Sgt. Michael Watner said.
Garcia changed lanes, but the van chased him for several miles, Watner said. The van driver pulled up alongside Garcia and fired one round from a shotgun at him, Watner said.
Garcia was treated by paramedics for minor injuries caused by shattered glass from the blast, Watner said. Authorities were seeking the driver of the van, who was described as a light-skinned black man.
