Resale Housing Prices Rise 4% in Simi Area

The average resale price of a house in the Simi Valley-Moorpark area rose about 4% in October, to $246,528 from $238,055 the previous month, according to the Simi Valley-Moorpark Board of Realtors.
The latest average price also was 20% higher than the $205,038 level of October, 1988.
The number of house sales in October was unchanged from the previous month, at 170. But sales fell 13% from a year earlier, when 195 homes were resold.
The average resale price of a condominium in October increased about 2% to $160,962 from $158,282 in September. That average price was 26% higher than the $127,859 average set in October, 1988.
Condominium resales fell 25% in October to 52 from 69 in September, but the level was unchanged compared to a year ago, the board said.
