Frederick’s of Hollywood Inc.: The women’s wear retailer said earnings for the 1989 fiscal year increased 77% to a record $3 million. Record sales of $80 million were up 23% from fiscal 1988. Fourth-quarter earnings more than doubled to $777,000 on sales of $19 million, up 22%. The Los Angeles-based company said all segments contributed to the increased performance in fiscal 1989, including a 76% gain in operating profits at its retail stores and a 34% increase in operating profits at its mail-order operation.
