Record Warnings Rejected: Despite warnings from proponents that lewd rock music lyrics lead teens to suicide and violence, a Pennsylvania House subcommittee Wednesday rejected a proposal requiring records to carry lyric warning labels. Instead, the Judiciary subcommittee on crime and corrections unanimously voted in favor of a resolution urging record companies to voluntarily affix labels warning of explicit content on records, tapes or compact discs. The sponsor of the bill to mandate warning labels, Rep. Ronald Gamble (D-Allegheny) called the resolution ineffective and said, “It’s like kissing your sister.”
