So our illustrious Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has rejected the application of the community’s own high school band for a place in this year’s Christmas parade lineup.
If I, as a lifelong professional musician and teacher, had tried, I couldn’t have come up with a more effective way of stifling the serious efforts of an ambitious local youth group, however small--a group we should be proud to sponsor.
Not good enough? Not as well-qualified for national media as the out-of-state selections?
For shame!
