INDIANAPOLIS — Eleven of 14 athletes selected at random by The Athletics Congress tested negative during the first week of a new year-round drug-testing program, TAC announced today.
The other three, who were not identified, did not report for testing and are under review by a TAC committee. TAC, the national governing body for track and field in the United States, previously said those who refused to be tested during the new out-of-competition program would be regarded as having failed the test and would be subject to possible suspension.
