A Lancaster woman was killed Wednesday morning when her car went off a road near Canyon Country and overturned in a drainage ditch, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The 43-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was fatally injured at 6 a.m. in the accident in the 8000 block of Soledad Canyon Road, Sgt. Craig Klein said.
Klein said the motorist was driving west on the road toward the Antelope Valley Freeway when she apparently lost control on a curve. He car went off the road, down a 30-foot embankment and landed upside down in a dry wash, he said.
Passers-by attempted to give first aid to the woman but she was pronounced dead after being taken to Palmdale General Hospital, Klein said.
