Tom Farr, Cypress Softball Coach, Dead at Age 51

Cypress High School softball coach Tom Farr has died of cancer.
Farr, 51, died Monday, former Kennedy and Magnolia football coach John Hangartener said Thursday.
Farr was an assistant football coach at Kennedy from 1969-88. He also coached track and field and girls’ softball at Kennedy.
In 1985, Farr was hired as the softball coach at Cypress. He guided the Centurions to three Empire League titles and the Southern Section 4-A championship in 1987.
The funeral is scheduled Saturday at the Crescent Southern Baptist Church in Anaheim. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Tom Farr Scholarship Fund, which will benefit his two daughters.
