FCC Gives AT&T; a Split Decision: The Federal Communications Commission upheld its decision allowing American Telephone & Telegraph to tailor specially-priced telecommunications packages for major corporate customers, but it rejected an AT&T; request for freedom to lower a customer’s price to ward off a competitive challenge. Both tariffs had been opposed by its competitors, chiefly MCI Communications.
