LONDON — Mickey Mouse wowed them on his debut on the London stock market Tuesday as investors scrambled for shares of the Euro Disneyland theme park.
Shares in Euro Disneyland SCA opened in London at $13.12 (8.20 pounds sterling), compared to an issue price of $11.31 (7.07 sterling) fixed on Oct. 5.
Heavy demand for the stock before the formal flotation scheduled Nov. 3 had prompted the London Stock Exchange to take the unusual step of opening a limited, “advanced” market in unissued stock.
Eurodisney plans a $1-billion stock offering in Paris and London, which will leave Walt Disney Co. with 49% of the company.
