Talking classics: Turner Entertainment, which owns Warner Bros.’ pre-’50s titles--including some of Bette Davis’ finest--reports being besieged with calls from art-house exhibitors for vehicles starring the late actress. Most in demand: “Dark Victory” and “Now, Voyager.”
“A lot of the calls are from exhibitors in out-of-the-way places,” said a Turner rep, “which seems odd--until you realize that Los Angeles doesn’t have many retrospective movie theaters anymore.”
