GARDEN GROVE — Pacifica High School stayed unbeaten in Garden Grove League play with a 13-2 victory over Los Amigos Friday in front of 2,000 at Bolsa Grande High School.
Tackle Tony Field’s fumble recovery on the 50-yard line with 1:14 left in the first quarter set up the first touchdown for Pacifica (3-2-1 overall, 3-0 in league play). Three plays later, running back Chris Shockley sprinted 30 yards for the score and Bobby Anderson kicked the extra point to make it 7-0.
Los Amigos (2-4, 1-2) threatened late in the second quarter, driving from its 20-yard line to the Pacifica 15, but Mariner defensive back Jim Lochner intercepted a John Morgan pass to stop the drive.
With 6:23 left in the third quarter, Los Amigos scored a safety when Pacifica running back Derrick Nicholson recovered his own fumble in the end zone and was tackled.
