High School Roundup : Neville Leads Edison to Volleyball Victory

Setter Margot Neville had 44 assists, five kills and five aces to lead Edison High School to a 15-1, 12-15, 15-6, 15-8 victory over host Mission Viejo in a nonleague girls’ volleyball match Wednesday.
Edison is 3-3 and Mission Viejo 1-3.
In anther nonconference volleyball match:
Fullerton 3, Mayfair 1--Fullerton won, 15-11, 15-9, 16-18, 15-8, at Mayfair. Fullerton is 5-2.
In nonleague water polo:
Valencia 18, Trabuco Hills 3--Jeff Myers had five goals to lead host Valencia (6-5). Mickey Doi and Todd Denning had three goals each.
In nonleague tennis:
Rosary 11, Sonora 7--Freshman Mandy Gomez won, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, and freshman Joyce Cruz won, 6-1, 6-0, 6-4, for visiting Rosary (7-0).
Edison 10, Rolling Hills 8--The No. 1 doubles team of Nikki Turner and Laura Oleson had the only sweep for host Edison (6-2). Turner and Oleson won, 6-0, 7-5, 6-1.
Corona del Mar 12, Palos Verdes 6--Kerri Phebus swept her sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, to lead visiting Corona del Mar. Phebus’ two losses within the sets were her first defeats of the season. She is 12-0 on the year .
