San Diego police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man in Linda Vista on Monday, a police spokesman said.
Roderick G. McNight was shot in the back in the 2600 block of Ulric Street at 10:15 p.m. and died at Sharp Memorial Hospital about half an hour later, according to a deputy coroner. McNight’s address was unavailble.
Police found McNight’s body in a gutter after responding to reports of shots fired in the area. Based on preliminary findings, police do not believe the incident to be a drive-by shooting. However, the motive is unknown and gang involvement has not been ruled out, the spokesman said.
