The Coast Guard came to the aid of a dive boat that apparently struck a rock and began taking on water off San Clemente Island, officials said. Helicopters delivered a rescue crew and three water pumps to the 65-foot Sea Ray, which was stranded with 32 people aboard a half-mile off Pyramid Point on San Clemente Island, Coast Guard spokesman Dan Dewell said. The rescuers arrived in time to pump out the water and averted the need to evacuate the vessel’s passengers, Dewell said. Temporary repairs were made and the Sea Ray was being towed to port in San Diego, Petty Officer Charles Cowan said. There were no injuries reported.
