Civil Disobedience Tactics of Operation Rescue Leaders
- Share via
In committing acts of civil disobedience, Operation Rescue leaders must accept the responsibility and consequences for their actions. Acts of conscience, by definition, have a price. But Judge Tashima’s order that Operation Rescue pay $110,000 to the American Civil Liberties Union shows shocking insensitivity. That’s comparable to ordering a group of black protesters to pay $110,000 to the Ku Klux Klan--or trying to force a Jewish group to fund a neo-Nazi organization.
Levy the fine, Judge Tashima, but let it be paid to an adoption agency or a maternity home.
