Artists Lauded for Trying to Save Canyon

Responding to “Artists ‘Tell’ All to Save Laguna Canyon” by Rick VanderKnyff (Calendar Sept. 3):
The artists of Laguna Canyon are trying to save one of the few remaining areas of unspoiled beauty left in Orange County.
It makes a person wonder where these county planners, developers and the board of directors of the Irvine Co. live.
Is it possible they are all blind to the suburban sprawl, the incredible traffic problems that even a 10-lane San Diego Freeway cannot contain, the air pollution and the daily stress of coping with a society where nature is relegated to small neighborhood parks?
Perhaps these people of influence will stop seeing dollar signs long enough to take a good look at the Orange County they have created.
