City officials are accepting applications from community groups interested in earning $500 in exchange for keeping a city park litter-free for 15 weeks.
The groups selected for the program will be required to visit the parks--there are 25 in the city--at least once a week to pick up paper, cans, unbroken glass and other litter. Equipment maintenance will be handled by city crews.
To be eligible, organizations must be based in Fullerton and at least half their members must be Fullerton residents. Applications must include a list of community activities in which the groups have participated.
Applications are available in the Community Services Department at Fullerton City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave. The application deadline is Aug. 31; the program starts Sept. 10. For information, call (714) 738-6575.
