James Peter Long, 66, producer of jazz singer Billie Holiday’s final Carnegie Hall concert and tour manager for Quincy Jones who founded the Quincy Jones Workshop. He helped develop aspiring producers, directors, writers, performing artists, choreographers and cinematographers with that workshop in Los Angeles and another at New York’s Apollo Theater, where he produced weekly variety shows for seven years.
