Reseda Advances to Title Game

Tony Holiday was four for five with a home run and six runs batted in to lead Reseda to a 17-4 win over Newhall-Saugus in an elimination game of the Conejo Classic baseball tournament at Thousand Oaks High on Saturday.
Reseda will play Conejo for the championship today at 11:30 a.m. at Thousand Oaks.
Chris Garza threw a three-hitter and struck out 15 and Steve Chavez doubled twice to lead Encino to a 6-2 semifinal victory over Rialto on Saturday in the U. S. West Zone Pony League Championships at Pleasant Valley Park in Camarillo.
Encino (2-0) will play either Santa Susana or Rialto in the final Monday. The winner of the double-elimination tournament advances to the Pony League World Series in Washington, Pa., beginning Thursday.
Santa Susana advanced to today’s semifinals with a 13-1 victory over Camarillo in a game that was called after five innings because of a 10-run rule.
