Duncan 10 Shots Back in San Francisco Event

Patrick Duncan of Rancho Santa Fe is 10 strokes behind leader Bryan Pemberton after shooting a 73 Thursday in the third round of the Pacific Coast Amateur Championship being played at the Olympic Club.

Duncan is at 10-over-par 223. Jerry Michals of Vista shot 79, bringing his total to 232.

Pemberton, 20, of Dublin, Calif., who plays for USC, shot a two-over-par 73 on the 6,808-yard Lake Course and leads by three shots.

SAN DIEGO STATE

Bruce Robinson, named head trainer of the San Diego State football team in July, resigned this week for personal reasons, according to John Rosenthal, sports information director. Brian Barry, trainer for the men’s basketball team, will be moved to fill the position.
