BERLIN — Graciano Rocchigiani, the International Boxing Federation super middleweight champion, has been arrested on suspicion of white slavery, procuring and extortion.
West Berlin police said today that the 25-year-old champion was arrested Monday night after a West Berlin woman filed a complaint against him.
He was arrested along with 25-year-old Adnan Karakul, a Turkish friend and a former boxer.
The woman, whom police did not name, alleged that Rocchigiani and Karakul forced her to engage in prostitution during a trip last month to Italy.
She also alleged that the two pressured her to continue as a prostitute later when she returned to West Berlin.
