Fixed Mortgage Rates Keep Dipping: Thirty-year fixed-rate home mortgages are averaging 10.07%, according to a national survey released by the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. That rate was down from a rate of 10.19% last week. Adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 8.92%, down from 9.0% last week. The fixed-rate average is for a 30-year loan covering 80% of a home’s cost. The average adjustable-rate mortgage also is for 30 years but for 75% of the home price.
