Chris Dalrymple, a North Carolina businessman and weekend golfer, upstaged the British stars and led the field in the first round of the British Amateur golf tournament at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England.
Dalrymple, who has only once before played in this event--at Formby five years ago--shot a three-under-par 69.
