Buena Park Seeks First 4-A Badminton Title

Top-seeded Buena Park High School, winner of Southern Section 3-A badminton championships in 1982 and ‘83, will play for its first 4-A title today when it meets Nogales at 6 p.m. at Walnut High School.
Led by girls’ singles player Noy Sundara, Buena Park (19-0) defeated Alhambra, 14-5, Tuesday to qualify for its seventh Southern Section finals berth in nine years.
In the other semifinal, Nogales won, 11-8, over La Habra, which finished second to Buena Park in the Freeway League.
In the 3-A final, Long Beach Jordan will face Alta Loma and top boys’ singles player Dan Mussman today at 2 p.m. at Walnut High.
