Downey’s Alameda School on State Distinguished List

DOWNEY — Alameda Elementary School has been declared a distinguished elementary school by Bill Honig, state superintendent of public instruction.
Distinguished schools are selected for being the best in their particular grade span and socioeconomic group or ranked on their academic performance in the California Assessment Program test for third-, sixth- and eighth-graders. Improvement in attendance also is considered.
