Temple City OKs Development Limit

TEMPLE CITY — The City Council passed a 45-day moratorium last week on residential developments of more than 18 units per acre or those with proposed underground parking.
Currently, 24 residential units can be built per acre on R-3 lots. Council members were concerned about the density of future developments and said builders are increasingly using underground parking to save space.
City Manager Karl Koski said about six residential developments with underground parking have been approved by the city within the last year and a half.
