All 22 passengers and crew were killed when a French civil airliner crashed near the village of Leoncel, about 60 miles southeast of the French city of Lyon, rescuers said. The Fokker 27, on a scheduled flight from Paris to Valence, smashed into a peak as it prepared to land at Chaveuil airport near Valence. Aboard were 19 passengers, mostly business people, and three crew members. The 48-seat plane was owned by the Uni-Air company and chartered by Europe Aero Service for its twice-daily service between Valence and Paris, Aero Service employees said.
