Florence Griffith Joyner, who became a millionaire with the help of three Olympic gold medals and two world records, then retired from track and field, has formed the Flo-Jo International Track Club.
Members of the team are Andre Phillips, 1988 Olympic 400-meter intermediate hurdles gold medalist; Alice Brown, 400-meter relay gold medalist and 100-meter silver medalist at the 1984 Games; intermediate hurdlers Sandra Farmer-Patrick and David Farmer, and long jumper Gordon Laine.
Each of the five “has Olympic potential,” spokesman Gordon Baskin said, and each was given $10,000 by Griffith Joyner, “so they can concentrate on Olympic training.”
