Doris Day, who was scheduled to present the best original score Oscar with actor-dancer Patrick Swayze and composer Marvin Hamlisch on Wednesday’s Oscarcast, had to cancel out at the last minute after suffering a deep cut on her leg. Day was walking through the gardens of a hotel she owns in Carmel and cut her leg on a sprinkler. The cut required stitches. The singer-actress received an Oscar nomination 30 years ago for the romantic comedy “Pillow Talk.”
