Helmet Homily

What? Not Again! Will movie makers ever learn that, Hagar the Horrible notwithstanding, no Viking or Viqueen ever wore a horned helmet (“Having Heroic Fun on Way to Valhalla,” March 12). There were some in the Bronze Age, long before there were any Vikes.
I have done considerable research on Vikings--many of their kings were charted in Sweden as my direct ancestors--and I never saw a picture of such helmets or a reference to them. The Vikings would turn over in their watery graves to see Mickey Rooney (a star of the film “Erik the Viking”) or anyone else so accoutered.
