Local News in Brief : Newport Beach : Son Arrested Sunday in Stabbing of Father

A father-son fight Sunday morning resulted in the father being stabbed in the upper body and the son arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, police reported.
The victim, a Newport Beach lawyer, is David Magilavy, 68, who lives in the 1400 block of Clay St. The son, John Ellsworth Magilavy, 35, lives at the same address.
According to police, the incident took place at their home at 9:40 a.m. Police released no information about what led to the stabbing.
