NAMES IN THE NEWS : Stallone Refuses Double, Gets Hurt

NEW YORK — Actor Sylvester Stallone refused to use a double in some football sequences of his own movie, and when he woke up the next day his leg hurt so much that he went to a hospital, a publicist said today.

Publicist Andrea Jaffe said Stallone, 42, was shooting some scenes for a new movie at Rahway State Prison in New Jersey on Wednesday. “They were going for that realism, so he wanted to do it himself,” Jaffe said. “He took a hard hit.”

His knee was stiff Thursday and he went to the Hospital for Special Surgery on East 70th Street to have doctors look at it. They bandaged it up, the publicist said, and he planned to go back to work as scheduled tonight.
